Welcome to WAMSI

WE LOVE ROCKS! WAMS is one of the largest rock and gem clubs in the Northwest. Our members are interested in all aspects of rockhounding – from collecting agates and fossils to working the rocks and gems into specimens and jewelry to enjoy for years. WAMSI meets the first Thursday of each month (except August and December) at 7:00pm at the Salem Center 50+ (2615 Portland Rd. NE, Salem, OR). Visitors are always welcome! PLEASE NOTE: our July 2024 meeting will take place on Tuesday, July 2.

2024 End of Summer show

Join us outdoors at the Polk County Fairgrounds in Rickreall, OR, for our annual End of Summer rock and gem show.

• Friday, August 16, 9:00am – 5:00pm

• Saturday, August 17, 9:00am – 5:00pm

• Sunday, August 18, 10:00am – 4:00pm

WAMS Display at Rice Museum

When you visit the Rice Museum of Rocks and Minerals in Hillsboro, OR, be sure to see the WAMS club case in the Northwest Gallery building. Our case will be there from May through October 2024.

WAMSI MEMBERSHIP

Membership in WAMSI is fun and educational. As a member, you interact with about 200 other members of all ages who share the same interest in rocks, fossils and minerals. You have access to industry professionals, and learn where to find and how to dig many different varieties of rock. Plus there are fun activities and events throughout the year.
